Dayvan Cowboy Video Available For Viewing

WARP Records has kindly put up the Dayvan Cowboy video for viewing on it's site. This is BoC's first commercially-available video and comes on DVD with pre-orders of their new EP, Trans Canada Highway, due out on the 6th of June.

The footage in the first half of the video is from real footage of the highest descent ever recorded from the edge of space by Joseph Kittinger in 1960, skydiving from a height of 102,800 feet in a space suit. With complications on the way down, he was convinced he had not survived the jump and hallucinated falling through hell. The second half of the video... well, watch it yourself and find out!

More Trans Canada Highway Info

BoC's upcoming EP, Trans Canada Highway, will be out June 6th, and features all new tracks (with the exception of the Dayvan Cowboy single), and the video for Dayvan Cowboy (best described as 'lo fi') may be included with the EP from some outlets. Overall running time is a half hour (the EP, not the video), and the vinyl version may end up being a coloured version verus the regular old black slab we all know and love.

In addition, BoC have been working since last summer (2005) on their next album, and hopefully details regarding it will make themselves known soon.

New Boards of Canada: Trans Canada Highway!

The Music70 website has been updated with new images, and more importantly, an announcement of a new EP! Trans Canada Highway marks BoC's first EP since 2001's A Beautiful Place in the Country. In addition to this EP, a video (Boards of Canada's first commercial video) for Dayvan Cowboy will be released at the same time.

Trans Canada Highway (WAP200) will be on CD and vinyl formats on June 6th (why not 9th?) 2006.

New Boards of Canada Album… “coming soon”

The Music70 discography page has a mysterious blank square next to The Campfire Headphase (BoC's latest album, but I don't have to tell you that, do I?), and it simply says "coming soon" under the availability section. BoC did this before Geogaddi was released (the blank square on the discography page), but they did not do this with TCH. More information as it becomes available.

Hi Scores Reissued Once Again…

SKAM Records is reissuing the BoC classic EP, Hi Scores, on October 17th, the same day as The Campfire Headphase comes out on WARP Records. Highly recommended for anyone just getting into BoC.

This will be the third reissue of this classic album, but it is currently unknown if it will come out on both vinyl and CD formats this time (currently only a CD version is listed on Amazon's UK site) and if any changes are made to the packaging.
